Super talented kumawood comic actor Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin has opened up about the lack of support from his colleague actors since he declared his intentions to venture into politics.
The renowned actor, singer and entrepreneur announced not too long ago that he intends to contest as an independent parliamentary candidate for the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency in the Ashanti Region in the 2024 elections.
However, it appears most of his colleagues in the film industry aren’t in support of his move although he expected more support from them.
According to him, the only people who have so far supported his political ambition are the actors he featured in his cocoa season TV series.
“I thought I was going to get a lot of support from the creative people but all I hear are insults and discouraging comments. I have heard some bad comments but they are not going to deter me from pursuing my political ambition.”
“The only people who showed support are those I featured in my Cocoa Season TV series. Well, I believe every hood thing has some negatives so I consider the hatred shown to me as part of the negativity.”
“So far, the few things I have done for my constituency are enough to show what I can do when I am voted as MP. Apart from the scholl I have built and helping individuals among others, there are a lot more I want to do.”
“I know what I do and can do for my constituency and so when the time comes, my people will show me love and vote for me. And I have some rich men supporting my campaign and I am not joking about making an impact in politics” he said in an interview on Graphic Showbiz.
