Akwasi Afrifa-Mensa is a Ghanaian accountant and politician belonging to the New Patriotic Party. He is the member of parliament for Amasaman constituency in the 8th parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
Born Akwasi Owusu Afrifa-Mensa on March 4, 1971 and hails from Asaam.
Afrifa obtained his Higher National Diploma (Accountancy) certificate in 2004 and received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) in 2007. He obtained a post graduate Diploma in Business Administration in 2014.
Afrifa also holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) obtained in 2014.
After University, he did his National Service at Sekyere West District Assembly in the Ashanti region of Ghana. From there, he worked as Manager/Account Officer at Basel Mission House of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana-Kumasi.
He also worked as Accountant/ Account officer at Asante Presbytery, Presby Church of Ghana. He has worked also as an accountant at Presbyterian Girls Senior High School in Kumasi.
Akwasi Afrifa then worked as a Principal Internal Auditor/ Senior Internal Auditor at Ghana School Feeding and then to Director, Finance & Administration also at Ghana School Feeding programme.
Akwasi Afrifa-Mensa contested and won the 2020 December elections to represent the people of Amasaman constituency.
He is the Vice Chairperson on the Privileges Committee and a member of the Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises Committee.
