Dzifa Gomashie is a veteran Ghanaian actress, producer, scriptwriter cum politician belonging to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). She is the current MP for Ketu South constituency and a queen-mother in the Aflao Traditional Area. Dzifa was however a Deputy Minister of Tourism under John Mahama between 2013 and 2017.
Dzifa Abla Gomashie was born to Mr. Patrick Dotse Gomashie and Helen Gomashie in Accra. She had her secondary education at St. Louis Senior High School in Kumasi and continued to the University of Ghana for a diploma in Theatre Arts.

Dzifa also holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Management from UG and an MPhil in African Studies from the Institute of African Studies.
The veteran actress started her acting career in 1985 when she joined the Talents Theatre Company. She featured in stage plays like Black Star, Mambo, Chaka the Zulu, Jogolo and the Third Woman. She has also starred in several movies and a number of National Arts NAFTI Student productions.
As a scriptwriter, she has written quite a number of plays like the all famous “By The Fire Side” which she produced as well.
She used to own a restaurant called Mama’s Kitchen at Ashale Botwe even though she was actively acting.
Dzifa Gomashie was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture under President John Mahama between 2013 and 2017.
She then contested in the NDCs Ketu South parliamentary primaries and won the bid to represent the party at the 2020 general elections. She subsequently won the seat in the general elections becoming the first ever female to become MP for Ketu South constituency.
Dzifa was married to the late Martin K. G Ahiaglo who was a military officer. They had no child together although Dzifa had a son from a previous relationship.
