GTP Textiles’ decision to appoint Martha Ankomah as one of its brand ambassadors is a deal made in heaven. She slays so well in them that colleague slayers and fans will be tempted to buy a few yards of their fabrics. Why am I saying this? Our African prints can be used to sew all kinds of costume when you find the right designer. However makers of African prints .ie. GTP textiles in particular have complained a number of times about the lack of patronage of local prints. There are instances where foreigners even copy Ghanaian prints and design similar ones. Theirs are normally less expensive to the local prints due to low cost of production in those countries.

They end up exporting such textiles into the country at a lesser price. What this then means is that more people would prefer to go in for the cheaper ones. This will in turn affect the local producers.
To prevent that from happening and also to promote the GTP brand, Ghanaian actress Martha Ankoma was signed as the brand ambassador of the company in 2018.

From the look of things, it seems the award winning actress is doing well with her ambassadorial role.
