Freda Akosua Prempeh is a politician belonging to the New Patriotic Party. She is the NPP member of parliament for Tano North constituency in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. Freda is a former deputy minister of works and housing and currently a deputy minister for gender, children and social protection.
Freda Akosua Oheneafrewo Prempeh was born on January 23, 1966 in Accra to a Royal family but actually hails from Duayaw Nkwanta.

She is the third daughter of the Late Ohenenana Akwasi Agyeman Dua-Prempeh of Duayaw Nkwanta. Her mother is the late Nana Ama Serwaa, the Kontihene of Duayaw Nkwanta.
She had her basic education at University Primary School in Kumasi and continued to Technology Secondary school (now KNUST Senior High School) for her O Level. From there, she went to Accra Workers College in Accra for a A Level.
She holds a Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. Freda was honored with a Certified Public Accountant by Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration in 1998.

She holds both a Certificate and an Advanced certificate in Marketing, DipM, MCIM, Chartered Marketer Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing all from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom.
Freda got her degree in Business administration (HR option) from the University of Ghana in 2006. She also has a PhD in Business Administration from the Ghana Technology University College.
Freda worked as Manageress at Point Four Hotel in Sunyani and also worked at the Prisons service before going to parliament in 2013.
Freda started her political career back in 2002 as an Assembly member for the Lakoo Electoral Area of La-Dadekotopo Constituency in Accra for 8 years. She was called to serve on the National Reconciliation Commission as a Public Affairs Officer in 2006 for a period of 9 months.

She doubles as an MP for Tano North Constituency and the Deputy minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Freda Prempeh has held several leadership positions in Ghana like Chairperson of Development Sub-committee (AMA) from 2002-2006. Chairperson of Women & Children Sub-committee (AMA) from 2006 to 2008 and Founding Member and Vice President, Tertiary Students Academic Year Confederacy (TESCON) University of Ghana City Campus in 2006/2007.
She is the President and founder of Women Supporters Union of Ghana.
Freda is married with a son.
