This article provides a full list of constituencies in Ghana. It also details the number of constituencies we have in each region.

There are currently 275 constituencies in Ghana. The number has being growing steadily over the years from 230 in 2008. It then moved to 260 in 2012 until it stayed at 275 since 2016.

ASHANTI REGION- 47 Constituencies

Constituencies in Ghana

The Ashanti Region has the most constituencies in Ghana. The number moved from 33 to 39 in 2004 and 48 in 2012. However, the creation of some new districts in 2008 affected the location of some constituencies.

Ashanti Region plays a key role in deciding who becomes president of Ghana due to its huge voter population.

GREATER ACCRA REGION- 34 Constituencies

Constituencies in Ghana

Greater Accra is the region with the second most constituencies. The current number ie. 34 increased from 22 to 27 in 2004 but has remained unchanged since 2012.

VOLTA REGION- 18 Constituencies

The previous Volta region had a total of 26 constituencies until after the 2018 referendum. The referendum led to the creation of 6 new regions which meant that the old Volta region had to be split into Oti and Volta region.

Hence the new Volta region has 18 constituencies.
