Entry Requirements At Gbewaa College of Education 

For one to qualify for admissions into the college, there are certain entry requirements you must meet. These are the General entry requirements for Gbewaa College of Education;

  • All WASSCE Holders are expected to have CREDIT PASSES ie. A1-C6 in Six (6)subjects. Mind you it must include Three (3) Core subjects ie.English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies depending on the course you studied plus Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
  • All SSSCE Holders must also possess Credits ie. A-D in Six (6) subjects. The passes must include Three (3) Core subjects which includes English Language and Core Mathematics plus Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
  • Candidates awaiting results, both WASSCE and NABPTEX exams can also apply. NB: indicate that when applying.

  • GCE Advance Level holders must posses passes in three (3) subjects. Must have credit passes ie. Grade 6 in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects which must include English Language, Mathematics, and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subjects (for Science students).
  • Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Holders must possess passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Must have credit passes in five (5) subjects comprising of English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE).
  • Technical and Vocational Education and Training Applicants (TVET) students must possess Certificate II in three (3) relevant trade areas awarded by TEU, NVTI, City & Guilds, and other authorised awarding bodies in addition to NABPTEX Certificate II in lieu of passes in English and Mathematics. Must have NABPTEX certificate II in relevant trade areas in addition to three (3) credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE core subjects which must include English Language and Mathematics. Must hold a National Certificate II qualification in Competency Based Training (CBT) in a relevant trade area awarded by TEU on the National TVET Qualification Framework (NTVETQF).
  • Students with Foreign qualifications must go to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to determine if they qualify to be admitted into the college or not.

NB: Applicants with American SAT, TOEFL etc. must however note that you don’t qualify for admissions into the college with just that.
