Award winning Nigerian singer, Ayra Star has condemned the 2023 Headies Awards that was held last night at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, Georgia, USA for not presenting the Best Female Artist Award on stage.
The talented singer was the recipient of the award on the night. However, she was left fuming after the award was not presented to her on stage like other winners.
She beat off competition from the likes of Tiwa Savage, Simi and Tems in the “Best Female Female Artist” category.

The award is a major highlight in her career but unfortunately claims not to be grateful for winning the award. She took to Twitter few hours after clinching the award to condemn the organisers of Headies for not presenting her with the award on stage.

“I will never be grateful for winning a category that wasn’t even deemed fit to be announced on stage! Best Female Artist na beans? We work hard, every single one of us! I’ve seen Tiwa record 4 hit songs in the same night, Tems breathes and lives for music, we didn’t deserve such nonchalance! Nigeria, you didn’t raise me to settle for less.” She said in her statement.
