Klay Thompson is a four-time NBA champion born Klay Alexander Thompson on February 8, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is the son of Mychal Thompson, who played professional basketball as well whereas his mother also played volleyball while in college at the University of Portland and the University of San Francisco.

As the son of a former NBA player, Thompson also decided to follow his father’s steps and it’s safe to say that he has so far exceeded the heights attained by his father in his career. He won his first NBA championship in 2015 with the Golden State Warriors and in the process he and his father became the fourth father and son to win the championship.
He had an incredible career during his high school days at Santa Margarita Catholic School and continued to Washington State University where he became an important member of the basketball team.
By the time he was done with his college career, Thompson inked his name in the history books of Washington State University by becoming the third all-time leading scorer in the history of the university. The University then honoured him in 2020 by retiring the No.1 jersey he wore while in school.
This then made him the second person to ever receive such an honour in the history of Washington State University men’s basketball.
He was then selected by the Golden State Warriors in the 2011 NBA draft as the 11th overall pick in the first round where he has been playing till today.
