Mampong Technical College of Education is one of the 46 Colleges of Education in Ghana established in 1967. At the time it was founded, they were offering a 5 year Handicraft Teacher’s Certificate “A”.
However, it later added a 3 year Post Secondary programme in 1976, then a 3 year Diploma in Basic Education programme was also introduced in 2004 which specialises in Technical skills.
The college also offers a 4 year Diploma in Basic education sandwich course mainly for untrained teachers in Nkoranza and Sekyere West Districts.
Mampong Technical College of Education Admission Requirements
General Programmes
All WASSCE/SSSCE applicants must possess credit passes in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science/ Social Studies depending on your course of study. Additionally, applicant must have passes in THREE Elective subjects from any SHS area of study.
Early Childhood Education Studies
All WASSCE /SSSCE Holders must possess credit passes in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science/ Social Studies depending on your course of study. Additionally, you must possess passes in at least THREE Elective Subjects in any area ofstudy.
Mathematics/ Science
All WASSCE/SSSCE Holders must possess credit passes in English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science. Additionally, applicant must possess passes in at least THREE Elective subjects from Elective Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
Technical
WASSCE/SSSCE Holders must possess credit passes in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and any other three Elective subjects in a Science or Technical area of study.
French
WASSCE/SSSCE holders must possess CREDIT passes in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science/ Social Studies plus any other three electives which must include French.
