Talented Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Ruth Kadiri has angrily issued a strong warning to television stations in Ghana for airing her films without passing through the appropriate channel.
The award winning actress and filmmaker has warned that she will take legal actions against such television stations in future if they don’t obtain authorisation from her before broadcasting her films.
She was angry about the fact that these television stations didn’t respect her intellectual property rights and the fact that the actions of these television stations can negatively affect the livelihoods of those involved in the Production of her films.
“I have a lot of love for the entire country but I’m deeply disappointed that a major TV station in Ghana would take my content, edit it and broadcast it as if they have the license to do so. And it’s not just one station, it’s multiple.”
“I’ve hesitated to watermark my content because I believe it would detract from its quality. This is my first warning and it will be the last because if it happens again, you will hear from my legal team” she warned.
